I strongly disagree with the notion that just because Adobe isn't supporting flash, that it is therefore "
dead"
. There are still probably literal millions of items of valuable flash content, from games to videos to who-knows-what-else, all over the internet, and for as long as any one of those exists, flash is still alive and valuable to have installed and functional. It having security vulnerabilities doesn't mean content that is completely unharmful should be banned from everyone's use; that's always struck me as rather stupid.
This sort of thing--but I think it was with java--was why I switched from using firefox to waterfox when the former tried to completely remove the ability to use java with no input from the user on whether or not that was ok.
Also, people are working on an alternative flash player which will be secure, even now --
