I seem to have hit an impasse. I've completed up to on dawdling river but when i come back none of the maps has a "new" location. did i miss something somewhere and need to restore back. can i restore back and not lose my progress to date any suggestions would be appreciated

Try going back to some previous levels. Something new might be going on there.

On Dawdling River is an optional level, so it won't unlock story progress. Do you remember what was the last story level you completed?
