TSS boots up, shows the sword icon and hourglass icon, music plays for about a second or two before I get a crash screen. DROD.ERR gives the line:

Assertion error in line 84 of .\Fade.cpp: "pOldFadeSurface->pitch == pNewFadeSurface->pitch"

This has happened on multiple installations and I don't know how to remedy it. I've reinstalled my hard drive a few times, but even that doesn't seem to work.

I am sure that it would be useful if you could provide information on the OS you are running it on, which version of tss it is, graphics card and such.

What do you mean by "reinstalling" a hard drive?

I meant reinstalling an OS not hard drive. But I eventually got the error to go away by updating my video card driver. Thanks for your help, though.
