I'm playing freshly released TSS (build 5.0.0.5923) on 64-bit Linux and there was an issue with spiders' rendering. They were not transparent at all and they didn't visually turn towards me.
I've tried restarting the game, switching between windowed and fullscreen mode, turning alpha on and off (usually I play in windowed mode with alpha on), but that didn't help.
When restoring again to the spider room to make a screenshot for this topic, I've tried the "farthest save" button on the restore screen for the first time (not sure if this could matter), and then the bug was gone. Now I can't reproduce it.
Also, there's no drod.err file (not sure if it is written when there are troubles not leading to a crash).

That's what vision-tokened spiders look like in 5.0 (at least for me, I don't know whether they're meant to; the lack of turning is rather odd). Is that being spuriously toggled somehow, maybe?

I think invisible spiders start facing a certain direction.

If there are steps to reproduce this, I'd like to hear it.

I can reproduce at least part of this in the editor. Invisible spiders behave normally when I come within viewing range, but if I step on a vision token or turn on puzzle mode, the spiders face south no matter where I move.

Oh.. That might be puzzle mode. I think I've turned it on at some point, forgot about it, then remembered and turned off. Btw, is puzzle mode supposed to do something besides adding a grid?

Edit: Indeed, this is how the spiders look in the puzzle mode.

Not ideally, I guess, but currently that's how spiders work.
