How do you get past the Aumtlic

so you can get to 4N1W to get the blue key?

Well, you'll have to kill the aumtlich, of course. More specifically...

Killing the Aumtlich is not a requirement.

×My stats prior to killing it were:
HP: 2453
ATK: 88
DEF: 40

• I had the bronze shield.
• I "stored" the grappling hook at (11,11) in 3N.
• Prior to killing the aumtlich, I went north to 4N and killed one of the rock golems, which brought my ATK up to 88.
• I used the invisibility potion to kill the aumtlich.

How did you get your atk so high? To my knowledge, there are only 2 atk gems in this level. I cannot get my atk high enought to hit the rock golems.

×So you can simply arrange to have the Grappling Hook and the Invisibility Potion in this room, use the potion, pick up the hook, and grapple past the Aumtlich.

The only place to leave the grappling hook in this room, that I can see, is where the luck greckle is. If you cross the trap door to the lucky greckle and leave the hook there A) you cannot get back to the grappling hook becasue the trap door is now dropped and B) where would you leave the invisibility potion in this room? Apparently, I am blind. As long as I have been playing these DROD RPG's and I still can't quite get the hang of it,......

Swordsmen have 50 DEF. Added to your base ATK of 20, that's 70 ATK, which is high enough to kill a Rock Golem. Rock Golems have 68 DEF, so when you kill them, you have an ATK of 20 + 68 = 88.

I forgot I was using a mimic blade. Duhh,....

But,.... I still haven't figured out how to get the invisibility potion and the grappling hook both in that room at the same time. I'm working on it. Thanks!
