Re: Complex Complex : Lava Gates : 5 North, 1 East (0)
Anyone got a demo of getting past the goblins with sword pointing either (a) N, (b) NW? It's pointing N when you come through from 4N 1E, or alternatively you can go back to 3N and turn sword to face either NW or NE.
A couple of things I think I get:
(1) Can't do the first run through the room *without* hitting the orb and releasing the goblins, because of also having to release the eastern roach to shut the door and kill the eastern briar, to survive passing through (24,12).
(2) With sword pointing N or NE (or indeed E or SE), the room looks to be impossible. Because you can't kill any eyes with drones, and that means you can't safely pass through (24,14) and aggro two eyes at once.
(3) With sword pointing NW, W or SW, you could kill a few eyes with drones before releasing the goblins. NW is the only practical direction it can face before completing 4N (no way to arrive here with a sword pointing W, SW, S, SE or E under the circumstances), and see (2) above for the problems of a N or NE. The trouble is, a NW-pointing sword means that no drone can kill the southern eye - and the player cannot safely aggro it either. Also, if it were possible to get here with a sword in that direction, a W or SW-pointing sword *could* kill the lower eye, but not the brain.
(4) If one can somehow get here with sword pointing S, and kill all the goblins, all eyes can be safely aggroed and killed, and the bomb kills the brain, so I assume this is how the room is completed...
...So. Anybody got a demo of getting through this room with a NW-pointing sword? (I assume if the above logic holds, about the eyes, that it's not possible with a N-pointing sword.)
[EDIT] And... made it. Both with NW-pointing sword - which leaves one eye alive, and exits with sword pointing SE - and S-pointing sword, which completes the room on the second pass.
