List of fan made quests available for download:

1) - Forest of Doom.
2) - The Lava Mountain (Beta version).

Every Quest should have a main thread so people can talk about it, or even rate/review it.

When helping people in your quests:

1) -If you want to post images, I suggest using www.photobucket.com to host them. It'll help us to keep the forum faster.

2)-Use only .jpg or .png files.

More will be added later...

There is a disadvantage to water being on layer 2 while mud is on layer 1: You don't realize that, when you put water on it, there's still mud.

This can result in some wierd things with Chen. I found myself puzzled as to why some land didn't have crossable water around it, and then I realized that it's because that land is close to where mud once (mud that was replaced by water).

When I got rid of the water, lo and behold, the mud was still there! But it shouldn't exist under the water.

This can be easily fixed by having the game automatically change layer 1 to grass when water is placed.

Instructions:

1) - Go to the editor map screen, and press the Compile button.
2) - Open your quest's folder. (located in the \game\Quests folder).
3) - There will be a file called: "quest_name.quest" This will be your file.
4) - Create a thread for it, so people can talk about and rate it.
5) - For now you can attach the file to your thread's first post. When you have a final version, just contact me. Don't forget to compress your file with a zip program before attaching.

PS: Please don't forget to polish and playtest your quest before posting, also.

Uploading a quest that was made in 30 minutes is not a good idea. People may complain about it. Be sure its good enough to be uploaded first.

When asking for help, feel free to create a new thread for the room. (Don't forget quest name, level and room name).

And finally, good luck!

Edit much later:
I decided to delete my above post. However, I see no reason to make a new post to state this.
And I don't have ANY questions now. Apart from a few related to making a second level, which I'm not ready for anyway. ;)

Could you explain some more, Neathro?

Can anyone put Lava Mountain in the list of quests? Thanks in advance.

How do I use the WonderQuest newest version editor to delete something other than covering grass and dirt with more grass is what I meant...
Right-clicking has no effect on WQ... and left-clicking places stuff... It's DROD that deletes with right-click.
I KNOW HOW TO DELETE MY POST...! Do you want me to delete my top post in this thread? Or do you think it serves some purpose? I want advise on this.
Or did you advise me to go delete it?

EDIT: This is serious... WQ stopped responding in the editor, then exited.

To delete, you have to hold down the LEFT mouse button, then right click.

Hmmmm... Windows Vista will never come to like WonderQuest's grafix, it flashes white.
And left-click then right-click just seems to place stuff...
I give up. The DROD editor works better.
Even if it doesn't have rays, lamps etc....

DON'T GIVE UP YET NEATHRO!

Sorry for posting in all these threads, but I can give you very specific instructions as to deleting stuff.

To delete: Hold the LEFT mouse button down, drag along the things you want to delete (these things will be highlighted), and hold the RIGHT button. Once you hold the RIGHT button, let go of it, continue holding the LEFT mouse button for a bit longer. After a second, let go of the LEFT mouse button for it to delete.

Other objects as to orbs and stuff won't delete exactly this way because you left click to activate their "which gate shall I hit and how?"

To delete those things, hold the LEFT mouse button on some area elsewhere, and drag along the orbs or stuff while still holding the LEFT mouse button. Once you finish highlighting those things, hold the RIGHT mouse button. Wait a second, let the RIGHT mouse button go, and wait another second before hold the left one down to.

Keep in mind that when you delete stuff, you will delete everything on it except the original tiles.

My rank points are red. Thanks any way! Do you have any more problems?

The hourly hint will be given every hour. It explains how to do things in the editor. These hints will not be given from 11:00 to 7:00 in my time. Since I don't go to school at this time, most other hours will have a hint with them.

Just a question, but how do you make crumbly wall? Or make character-switching tokens?

EDIT: Nevermind. I found how to switch heroes.

Interesting. So holding Shift-R while placing wall makes it crumbly or secret wall? A red X is crumbly wall, while a smaller red X is secret wall.

I think they should be like hero selectors, left click on the element to bring up this:

Normal Wall .......... 0
Crumbly Wall ......... 1
Secret Wall .......... 2

Or something like that.

Actually, these are the values:

Crumbly Wall ......... 1
Secret Wall .......... 0

The difference between both is that if you have one or more secret tiles, (Red X) the player will see a secret message flashing in the middle of the screen. You can use them as a hint.

By the way, the secret is a monster object that if targeted by Jax's sword, destroys itself and any second layer object placed in the same tile. So any object as water tiles, orbs, gates, hero tokens, etc, can be made crush ables.

Interesting.

Why not just add a few extra element buttons for secret and broken wall and just use the blue and red X's to label them? Seems a bit easier, but it is a good way to shrink things down a bit.
