I'd just like to point out that Elfstone is a her.

Other than that, my only other comment is that I'm surprised Laboratory got nominated, and even more so that four people voted for it.

Let this be a warning to all - copying and pasting does not necessarily save time and aggravation.

Well, you could always use "it/its" for everybody, and claim it's all in the interest of "political correctness". Then you can go ballistic with the copy-pasting... and "it/its" are a bit faster to type than their masculine and feminine counterparts.

I only have one suggestion to make regarding the contest: what about an Underdogs category? This hypothetical category would be the province for holds with less than X downloads, Y explorers, Z votes, or lambda somesuch. SmS would be excluded almost by default, but so would a lot of other popular holds out there. While I think there is a market for not-played-enough holds, I don't think the line should be drawn between SmS and the rest of the world.

I think this category should be about "sheer quality, creativity, and so on and so forth", rather than a more specific criterium as in other categories. Holds I have in mind include City of Queens and above all Nanfro Budkin's First Dungeon, a hold I have found to be delighting (though I haven't quite conquered it yet, being stuck halfway through the last level).

Come to think about it, this aim might be better served with a wholly different contest, perhaps on the lines of "oldies still worth playing", which would seem at odds with the whole point behind the Deadlines. Or perhaps not.

Figure or Ground? I thought it was Figure on Ground. Ah well. This was just an excuse for me to give you your 600th rank point!

Fun fact: During beta the hold was named Figure and Ground, but the name was changed because of the, um, unfortunate(?) abbreviation...

Ah, you think the Film Actors' Guild might have objected?

I think it would be a lovely description of how I felt about this hold. It was very much like getting beaten over the head with a bundle of sticks... and being a masochist.

Okay, I think we're good now. No more errors, I do declare!.

Of course, I'm sure someone's been waiting for me to say that and will pounce with an error that I missed. Bring it on!

This is one of those times that I'd really love to use the blowup smilie if it weren't for Maurog's crusade against it.

Nevertheless, it's been fixed.
