Ok, I cleared all the rooms on this level, I followed the rope trail and turned into the scientist, and picked up the red trophy, now I can't seem to find my way out I'm stuck as the scientist. It says exit level - how do I get out of here? :~(

I've completed all required rooms. Where do I start to go to the exit?

Thank you.
That takes care of Level 9.

As far as game difficulty as compared to DROD.

In general, Wonderquest tends to be more difficult because:

-I'm already more familiar with the DROD rules.
-WQ has more tiles/screen.
-WQ seems to have more objects.
-WQ has multiple characters. A lot of the rooms you might question, "Could I have started this room from another point or with a different character?"

The two versions of pressure plates might be made more distinctive.

My biggest annoyance is still feeling lost at times. For example, I finish all the required L9 rooms, now what?
There is no end level marker(like stairs in DROD).
The minimap is nice but surely isn't detailed enough to figure out where to go. There is no easy way to scroll around the full level so one would either need a great memory or have to run/sail around the whole level trying to map things out. This actually might be fun to some players but is most un-fun to me. If ther were a simple way of analyzing the entire level in enough detail it'd probably be less annoying to me.

Still the room and level designs are all well thought out.

every level fits entirely into the minimap - unless you get secrets, and then it has "scrolling issues" which is a pain in the posterior for navigating.

Hint: Use arrow keys to scroll map.

Hint: If you want to know a room name, move the mouse over it on the mini-map. You can only get out of the level on the "The Exit" room.

A scroll was added on L9 to indicate the exit.

A lot of the rooms you might question, "Could I have started this room from another point or with a different character?"

Just a few rooms are inter-dependant, generally secret rooms.

I've cleared the level, found my way to the exit, but I can't seem to find the last secret. Unless the level has changed since these posts, it would probably be this red trophy, because the other two I found weren't red. But revisiting just about every place hasn't helped.

(secret spoilers) I've found

So, I'm stuck on The Penitence. I can get Jax or Rick down to the fourth of sometimes fifth row of blue tiles, but then I get trapped by a wall of balls. It doesn't make sense that a ball touching a hero while on a switch plate kills a hero, they should be pushed!

EDIT: Never mind, got it.

When a Ball pushes an inactive hero out of a party splitter square, the hero dies because he becomes useless. But you gave me an idea: To allow a ball to push an inactive hero anywhere, so we could have puzzles like: "How to make the 'x' hero reach the 'y' splitter, so he can be activated. Allowing even the heroes to change their PS colors".

but what if, say sophie is on a green splitter berk is active and jax is pushed onto another green splitter???

The actual algorithm replaces the active hero, when he steps on a party splitter, by the first inactive hero that is over a PS with the same color, starting from the upper left, to the bottom right.

So the best alternative: To allow the inactive hero to be pushed freely, except:

1) - Over a PS color already occupied.
2) - Over a PS with a Hero changing icon.

It means death in any of the cases above.

I'm also studying some way to allow the player to choose the hero he wants to play with freely. Like a potion that displays a menu:

Press the key and choose the hero.

1) - Jax
2) - Archer.
3) - Berk.
etc..

Anyway, it's just an idea...

Don't forget about other elements -- Pushing Chen into mud or into water, pushing Rick into a box, and all the other miscellaneous uncomfortable things that happen manually thanks to balls...

The potion thing would seem nice, maybe also in consideration of one-time icons? They both might make the game a little too complicated though... The potion would be as much of a challenge to the architect as to the players to use well, consider that.

Don't forget to keep the choices canonical if you plan to insert it in existing levels too... :?
