Entering from the south, I just cannot get across to the east. I've managed to kill the roach queen to the west, but I can't get past the roaches from the east without being ambushed by the roaches from above. Any advice?

Do you have the latest version of the hold? This room was impossible to get through until the update a few weeks ago. If you have an old version, I'd strongly suggest you update to the latest version of the hold (levels 13, 20 and 25 are impossible in the old version).
