Ok, I've been stuck in this room for a really long time now, and I just can't seem to get it - I always arrive at the tar mother a few turns too late. Is there some trick here I'm missing? Or is it just ultra-efficiency? If it's the latter, can anyone suggest what order I should do things in?

Huh, I admit that this room is really hard. I took at least 1 week to complete it.

I think it nearly impossible to explain how it can be done because it involves a lot of efficiency.
The best way is to see a demo, so if you want to see mine, just ask.

I normally hate asking for demos, but this dungeon has really tried my patience more than once. I've tried the strategy outlined above, and I know it's the fastest solution, but I'm always exactly 6 turns late no matter what I do.

Any help would be appreciated, even if it has to be a demo.

I'm afraid giving tips here would be saying "be more efficient" in several flavours... and I guess you already found that out.
