I've been missing this thread, since it came to a halt about a year and half ago. But there are a lot of new users, and a TON of new songs to stump each other with! Also, the reason I thought it best to start a new thread instead of continuing the old is so no one feels the need to wade through 14 pages.

It's simple: just throw out a snippet of lyric, and whoever correctly guesses the song name and artist first can throw out a lyric of their own. They should be songs that have been on the radio at one time or another.

Me first:

I have no idea what the song is, but I wanted to make sure people realize that looking the song up on Google is cheating. If you just don't recognize the lyrics, then someone else that does know them should have the chance to answer. I know sometimes people would say that they knew the song name and group name but Googled them just to make sure they were "spelled right." That's a borderline case and I think in general people will be understanding of small typos. So let's keep it fun and fair for everyone.

It looks like the people interested in this game don't recognise the song. Maybe this game needs a timeout rule, like "Translate Gibberish" had?

Ok, I guess I made the first one too tough. Here in Seattle you can't spit without hitting that song!
Incidentally, it was "Soul Meets Body" by Death Cab For Cutie.

How about this? It was a #1 song from a HUGE band.

Ha! That is "Lawyers, Guns, and Money" by Warren Zevon. There's a tribute album that came out recently that has Bruce Springsteen doing "My Ride's Here"...a great song, there.

Heh. Right song name, wrong band name. It's another "one-hit wonder" group, and might be too obscure. But the rules say you gotta know the artist name, so if someone can get it within a few days, they can have it, otherwise Chris will go.
