The first major point is how to keep passages open after leaving them. The answer is leave it so a tar baby will form on the next cycle. Here's how to do that most efficiently. Cut the tar from spots marked 1-3 and a tar baby will form next spawn keeping that passage open.

Another little hint if you can't quite make it to the 4th passage in time:

So that is the intended way of doing it?

It is fun to see what people can do.

Indeed I could not save all 4 passages in time without "cheating".

On level 4, 1S1E I wondered whether this could be done with any turns remaining on the spawn counter. I couldn't and indeed many found this to be a good challenge to complete. It has been solved with 3 EXTRA turns remaining!

And level 6: 1N can be solved by killing the tar eyes and not worrying about using the trap doors as I intended. Good luck to anyone else who can accomplish that.

And of course Rabscuttle, our efficiency expert, managed to solve Level 3: 2S in just under 9,000 turns. Go figure.

Here you go...

I guess I could have saved a few steps here and there but I'd say I didn't do too bad... :)
