I don't know how you people have a hard time with her, once you get her timing down. I really don't.
Edit: Okay, since I got modded down for this post, uh.
I don't mean this in the 'wow, you're dumb' way, but in the 'seriously, what is the problem' way. I don't get it.

Vivian or Koops gets you out of the way of her stupidly powerful twink move, and by that point you should have a /lot/ of healing items. Unless you've been ignoring badges altogether, you oughta have enough to have Mario dealing /tons/ of damage. And Quick Change, so you can swap Goombella in whenever she isn't about to do that and have twice the damage. If you /have/ been ignoring BP, well, you probably will have a problem.
BP, frankly, /should/ be your main stat. You should only raise HP if you're taking too much damage to survive, and only raise FP if you aren't able to kill monsters with ease. Otherwise, you want to max out your BP. There's enough HP/FP Plus badges out there you can modify your stats to your /whim/ with that, and if you master PerfectGuard, I daresay it oughta be possible to beat the game without ever raising your HP.
Yes, you /can/ raise your defense. And, for most of the game, having a couple defense ups does in fact help. For the Shadow Queen, don't bother*. Your /entire effort/ with the Shadow Queen is to kill her as fast as humanly possible so that she doesn't use her moves, which are, admittedly, /excruciatingly/ difficult to B. If you can't B them, I suggest you A them, and just depend on your healing items to keep you off the ground.
*Okay. If you don't have enough Attack+ badges that you somehow have room for more than them, quick change, and multibounce (Remember, the hammer is a waste of your time, because you get the spike-block badge as soon as you get Vivian, so throw on Jumpman), throw in a defense up partner. Why? Because Vivian is a delicate flower, and will crumple to heavy damage.. If she falls, you have already lost. It is that simple.
And yes. Your star moves. Since you're doing /nothing but Stylish attacks/ by now, (right?), you want an easy way to fill this. Oh, look! You're using Mario's /multibounce/, which has a Stylish move between every single hit. (If you don't know, press A right after Mario hits the peak of every bounce. Yes, right after.) Looks like you'll consistently have enough stars to do the upgraded Tasty Treat (Can't recall the name), and will be able to continually top up your HP/FP. That's right, that's all you're going to be using it for, because your other attacks aren't going to do enough damage. Multibounce + Rally Wink IS your secret to beating her.
And there you go. I think I'm outta advice.
