I'm aware the left fuse lights because we're stepping on it again. But, uh, the fuse shouldn't burn up a square and then die.

This is the intended behavior, or at least the official one. Dropping a trapdoor cuts a fuse. This happens before the fuse spreads. Thus, stepping off the trapdoor kills the fuse unless you wait a turn.

It may have been more intuitive to have the opposite ordering, but that would have less puzzle potential. There are several rooms in JtRH which were designed with this behavior in mind; changing the behavior now may have unpredictable results.

Ah, I see. --I still haven't bought the game yet, since I still can't find a willing credit card <_< >_>, so.

Waait. You can run fuses across pits, though. o_o
