Well, I can't argue with that...they certainly do look identical, even if different sizes. (I was even counting lines, looking where they intersected the body, the letters, etc.) However, if this is some kind of paper currency, I wouldn't be surprised to see some kind of repetition, or reflection through the diagonal or something like that. I still think that Erik just cut the three pictures up into a number of pieces equal to the testers/team members, but I guess time will tell, as we get more people posting their pieces.

Anyway, if the two pieces are identical, it still doesn't take away from my assertation that each person got pieces from 3 different pictures. Maybe the "Bill" one was so small that he made 2 of them and then divided them up. ;)

Game on,

I'm blaming size variances on scanner/camera issues. I mean, one of the bill pieces is /blue/.

Thank you Bill, for realizing what features your image editor was missing and adding them in your word processor ;). Apparently Word was released as a patch for the Paint program, which explains a lot about it.
I once had a nightmarish dream in which Microsoft announced their new strategy for internationalization: Windows would no longer render fonts. Consequently, menu items and labels with text were obsolete, and would be replaced with "easy-to-understand", spoken-language-independent icons. ...and Microsoft Word was replaced by Microsoft Pictogram. Only I suppose there was really just an icon for the name, but my dream didn't get that far....

Yeah, it's completely off-topic. I have nothing at all to say about the trinkets. Okay, how 'bout: "Hey, good luck with those trinkets, guys!" There. Maybe that will keep the digression police off my back....

You may want to give "the gimp" a go, it's free, and a fully featured image manipulation program:

http://www.gimp.org/

and for windows: http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/

Both sites have screen shots.

Attaching the pieces of the last posts revealed that I was wrong, and the 1's do point the right way. It looks much more consistent now:

My guess is the message reads:
He who lives by the store, will buy in the store.

PS: The real file I worked on is again attached, but it is pretty big.

I think that's a joke, but I can't be sure. If anybody doesn't know what the message there almost certainly is, check out the April contest.

I did a bit of research just now, and it looks like there are approximatly 34 people who got these pieces. Of them, only 16(?) have posted them, meaning that we have more than half to go. If you are interested, my list of the people yet to post them are:

bibelot, bradwall, Daniel Ehlke, DiMono, krammer, levelthirteen, Scott, sharonk, Abyzzmal, Sten Ryason, Todd Downing, Tyler Downing, Steve Hartley, Malarame, NoahT.

And I have a started copy of the arm picture as well, but it doesn't have much in it yet. Will post when I have more to show.

As far as I'm aware, Sten, Todd and Tyler don't have forum accounts.

Not sure if Daniel still visits. I think sharonk is still out there.

My pieces, though I doubt they'll shed much light. A blue square, a mystery splodge, and the letter S.

Can somebody just spill the beans on this crazy nonsense?

Erik's the only one who really knows, since he created the puzzle, so he's the "someone". Seems like we'll have to bug him for the answer.

Game on,

You resurrected a 2 year old topic just to say three words that have nothing to do with the topic and actually detract from the topic, because they leave their reader confused as to what their point for existing is? If I had any mod points, I think I'd have to mod you down for that....

Interesting yes, but the problem I had was that instead of "I just found this and noticed that it's still unexplained, any chance of anyone finding anything new/Erik shedding light on the meaning?" I got "Oh yeah, this." which somewhat underwhelms.

That is good, then, and had I modded you down and had points left I would have undone the mod at this admission. ;) I do think this is a good topic to bump, though. Haven't read the whole thing but it's interesting that nothing was revealed before the interest died down. And I never saw the negative mod, but I suppose I could have chided you a bit less harshly..
