I must be stupid, but I have no idea how to do this room. I thought I did, and I attempted the way, but it seems like there is no good way to do this. I know I have to make a wall of mud babies at the East exit, but that's about it. Any help would be mundo-appreciated.

In what order are you trying to kill the three monsters?

The most efficient demos for this room do something more tricky, which I won't get into now since I didn't come up with it.

Aside from two tricky parts, this solution is very easy and straightforward. The tricky parts are:

There sure seem to be a lot of different approaches to this room.

I'm very happy to have mastered myself enough to look at this only after I did it yet differently

Hardest room in the dungeon, far as I am concerned; even what I've seen so far of the guards doesn't impress me very much ;)

Could someone post a demo to this room? I'm not interested in effeciency, just a solution.

I have been stuck in this room for quite some time now. I have tried the different approaches mentioned here, but continue to get stuck. I can get all the mothers, but get to a position where I can no longer move the mimick.

Thanks in advance for any help!!!! This is, by far, the most frustrating room I've encountered so far. This is the only room (save for the "optional" room) that I have left on 24.

NEVER MIND.... kinda feel stupid now. problem was leaving 1 mud baby... G0T IT!

I too am thinking this the worst room L24. Seems to be a number of possible solutions here. Perhaps someone can help me with this thinking:

The problem is, the mud baby in the top left hand corner spawns every time. Obviously, I need to be more efficient in my approach.
Any hints? :?

Well, I guess that was more than 1 key thing, but hopefully that helps.

Forget an o;d man but I don't understand what some of y'll are doing ... it sounds like you place the minic at the bottom left to kill the mud mother and then move to the NW corner. But the only way to get up there is to let the mud grow so you and "push" down to advance north. But this allows the mud to grow exponentially in the E and SW so that there is no chance on getting back down ... So what am I missing? Where is the starting point?

Well, I have all the above several times ... but if I start at the top left I always have a tar baby left at the top left ... or if I leave a space at the top left then the mud grows there and I can't get back ... even if I go down I have to wait so many cycles that the mud fills the area ... if, on the way down on the left wall I can keep the mud babies on the right blocking the expansion into the chamber there ... but I can't go to the mud mommy at the top right as then there is no way to get back ... so going top-left, bottom-left doesn't seem to be working ... should I start at the bottom-left and then work my way up? where? ? ?

I didn't say top left -- I said top-right. I kill things in the following order:

Top right, bottom left, top left.

Even after reading several hints, I had to put this room down for a couple days and come back to it before I could get anywhere...

Sorry guys, after reading all of the posts i'm not getting very far. I can kill the mothers but can't get anywhere near the tar baby. I start by killing the top mother and then get the mimic as far south and east and wait for the mud to grow and then go along the bottom to kill the other mother. Am i doing this wrong???

Can someone please post a demo for victory or at least at point me in the right direction.

There is more than one way to do this room, I think...but here's how I did it:

(spoilers within, progressively worse to the point where if you read everything there should really be no guesswork left in the room at all)

this is the last room for me on the level, but I can't do it.
I always have something left.
If I start from the right, I can't destroy tar or lower mud
If I start from the tar, I can't destroy one of the muds.

please help.....
