PMs need the "attach file" and "preview message" capabilities of regular posts, imho.

We have no plans to add file attachments to PMs, but previewing PMs will probably be added at some point.

I see the problems associated with PM attachments, and they obviate the discussion of my reasons for wanting such a feature.

I don't really care one way or the other, but it seems like the two objections to this are that you could share files globally and it would take up too much space. Couldn't you just have the file size count against the sender's PM space allowance and also remove the attachment once the PM has been read?

You could probably come up with a ton of ways to minimize the problems. The way we've chosen to minimize the problems is by not having attachments in PMs.

Anyways, I've got a ton of more interesting and useful things to do for the forum and/or CaravelNet.
