Finally Grandmoo can give a hint! There is an amazingly simple method to kill the outter snake that involves absolutely no involvement with the arrows. Take advantage of cover. A Delver in the bush is worth two in the hand. Now how do you get Slayer to hit the orb to release the roaches? He only follows. If I have him follow me in, I can't get past him to get out!

I too am having trouble getting the roaches released. How do you get at all the roaches without being killed? I cannot seem to correct my textbook delver mistakes

Yes, I did, sorry i forgot to mention. But I keep ending up with the two roaches at the top, and the rest of them at the bottom. Beyound that I am stuck

OK, I've read the above hints (thank you!), and I've dispatched the outer snake & the roaches, but I can't seem to get rid of the inner snake. What's more, I can't even figure out how in principle I'm supposed to get rid of it: where can I corner it, either alone or with the Slayer? (Or were those already-killed roaches supposed to help?)

In order to kill that inner serpent, I trapped the Slayer on the NE-facing arrow near the beginning of the room, then went around the loop one more time so that he jumped off it. I am sure there are a lot of ways to do it, just keep trying!

OK, I buy that, but how'd you trap him there? I can get him to step on, but then he steps off and goes north, trailing dutifully after me as I travel in the gap of the snake. Grrrrrr....

Use your sword to keep him at bay. Don't give him room to jump in after you in the snake gap. This should allow you to chance to get to the northeast orb area and wait for him to kill the inner snake.

You want him to walk across the green arrow.

Maybe I didn't specify. see those two right-arrows that the snakes are enslosing? the one furthest to the right the slayer should walk through and then up a little to block the path.

That all seems straightforward enough --- I figured this is what to do. BUT the slayer won't walk through.

No matter what variation I try, with the positions of the slayer, seeker, his cane, I can't get him to come back out, off the arrow, to the outermost ring.

What am I missing?

So, the only monster left is the outer snake. I have to use the slayer to kill it. But the slayer stays on the arrow at (18,21)! I can't lure him out, because he will kill me. How to make him kill the snake?
