The key to my solution was to take out as many guards from behind as possible (with mimics), and then dispatch the remaining 10 or so 1 at a time, running in circles to get away from them. This is not so bad because they tend to bunch up and you can avoid the group as a whole rather than dodging them from all sides.

I placed a mimic with sword N immediately behind the line of guards, and then moved NW so that the mimic cut a hole in the line. Then got another potion and repeated. That takes care of about half the potions.

Then, as you're running away from guards, aim to get a potion every now and then so that you can take out a guard or two easily.

you should be able to take out 3 guards per mimic

the hard part was I finished with 2 potions unused
it took me a couple days to realize I didn't need to rush like mad to get every potion

This broke the line up and clumped the guards together. I then circled around them, cutting a few here and there until i whittled them down.

behind works just fine

The key was when I was near the NW corner and could pass between 2 guards and start the circling. Also, the minics that were deployed I was able to bring into action again by going near the bottom S and then NE.

It makes 2days I'm on this room...and tried every hints read on posts but I can't figure how to suceed...I tried with my sword pointed to the north, SW...
Can someone send a demo ?

After beating the room, using your hints and demos, I just read the challenge scroll (stupidly places behind the green door as usual, so it can't be read until AFTER the fact!)

"Don't drink any mimic potions."

What? Don't be ridiculous! This can't be done without mimic potions!
I barely survived WITH them!
I defy anyone to try - I won't believe it until I see it!

The challenges were added to the hold years after its original release, so in many cases the scrolls had to be placed behind green doors to make sure existing demos would still work.

Believe what you want, I don't think I've seen a challenge in an official release that was undoable.
Tricky, sometimes deviously so, yes, but not impossible.
Also I'm pretty sure that navithmastero and Pearls (and possibly others) have video series on YouTube doing complete 100% of this and other official holds.

As for the idea/tactic; try to make the guards be "in the center" of the room while you run circles around them.
This is possible and you can gradually pick off a few of them, until none remain.

I guess there's some enjoyment to be had from these challenges by some.
But I must confess, some of these rooms are so hard to just beat the conventional way that they're not fun for me. I only enjoy a game when I'm progressing.
That's why I never play the Hard Mode setting when there's a choice! 😅
