Another plea for help on level 21. I can't see how to set the bombs off without coming in from the east, and I can't see any way that's possible either.

I just know this is going to be one of those where I'll be kicking myself when I find out what to do.

I don't really understand what your question is. You can easily step on the west end of the fuse, right? The trick is what to do after that.

When you step on the fuse, wait one turn to let it advance. Stepping off a trapdoor breaks a fuse, even if it's the lit end. The trapdoor drops before the fuse burns out of the square.

Game on,

Was it yourself that said elsewhere you were a proponent of sleeping on a problem? Whether it was you or not, I did just that. I woke at 4:55am with the answer and had to get up to make sure I was right. back to bed for me now. Cheers! :)

OK, I've got to the top right save point, but I can't see any way to drop all the trap doors and leave myself at the bottom right. I have two 'lanes' of single trapdoors leading to the bottom right corner, so it is impossible to drop both of them...

Now what?

Well, if its impossible to drop the trapdoors, then you must have done something wrong on the way. However,

Attached is a pic of my progress...I assume I've somehow gone wrong in getting to the save point but I can't figure it out...

In that pic, there are 3 paths to the bottom right corner. So unless there's a problem elsewhere, you should be able to go down there, come back up, and then return later.

I've gotten to the upper right save point, but now there's no way out. What am I missing?

Well, I imagine you simply dropped both trapdoors at the end of the path instead of only one of them. Remember you can step diagonally around a corner.

Also: the whole point of the room is to have the fuse going as you make your way through the bombs. So when you step on the fuse, you need to wait 1 turn so that the fuse doesn't break from you stepping off the trapdoor.

No, you have to enter the room from the left first. Have you read the other hints in this thread? If you're on level 21, you have some practice with moving efficiently through bomb fields, so just be sure to leave yourself a path for after the bombs explode (and I think you mean upper right corner, not upper left).

To get to the upper right corner do I have to go to the lower right corner first and then go back up?
Thanks

Nope. Once you step on the fuse (wait one turn to make sure it lights) you need to get to safety as quickly as possible. Then head for the lower right.

My problem is that I cannot get around this corner and when I go south to get to the upper right I run out of time.

You have to run the long way. It'll be close; the bombs will explode on the very move that you step on the X.

Enter with your sword facing east, and try to turn it as little as possible.
