Ok, this room is really getting on my nerves. I have used Halph to fetch the door on the left countless times, got ploughed by roaches, slayed some queens in the first slot, got ploughed by roaches. Used Halph to block passages, ploughed by roaches. Every strategy I try, it backfired by the horrible amount of time and roaches to slay. Guess I need a new tune up on my efficiency part...

Any hints?

If there's a good way to get to the door by the time Halph makes it to the orb, I'm not seeing it.

Edit: Fighting off a horde of roaches while slowly losing ground is not what I call a good way. But it works.

I've killed the roach queens in the first chamber and got back out into the passage but I can even get close to the next one as I have to move backwards each time to kill the roachs! I managed to send Halph to open the door but that didn't seem to help much.

It has been awhile since anyone posted to this room. mrimer states above the the room can be conquered easily by entering the small room on the lower right side. The bombs take care of all the queens & roaches; however, the little white "wall crawler" monsters are another matter. I can kill all but the one that starts on the island in the lower left with the orb. It alwasys comes down and gets trapped before reaching the right side wall. There must be some movement or position by Beethro that intices it to come all the way to the right side wall.

Can anyone offer a hint that will make this happen?

I've given up! I've taken the position indicated but when I try to walk out there's a roach blocking the exit. I can't figure out how to get the timing right. I've probably tried 30 times & I can't see it. I've tried variations: moving back & forth with sword north, stationary with sword swinging. I've even tried various placements in desperation. I think the 1 move gap, during the slaughter, might be the key but I can't think how to use it. Please help!

My problem with this room is that I don't know if the first thing to do is go to the first room on the right or go and push on the yellow door. I have done it both ways but always get killed. Thanks

Assuming you are entering the room from the south, you need to exit to the left, without clearing the room. This means you need to fight off the roaches long enough to let halph open the door for you. It is not easy, but it is certainly possible. (By the way, you will clear the room when entering from the lower-right entrance with the fuse).

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong in this demo? If I try to kill the queens first, I cannot get back to the yellow door.

Ah, tricky room this one.

From memory, I think you do go for the queens. You just need to be a whole lot more optimised. Also, remember that you can lodge yourself next to a roach queen in order to cut down on or remove her spawn.

I can't leave this room for about several days.
They're killing me every time I try to survive till Halph opens the west door.
Can anybody help me, please?

Good job finding the Hints and Solutions board! :)

In this room, it helps to be aggressive while Halph is going to open the door. You need to reduce the number of new roaches created by each spawn.

EDIT: I've attached a demo, since I really couldn't add anything to what's already been said here. Good swordsmanship is hard to explain in words.

OK I am completely stumped.
Please bear in mind I cant see the room maps/diagrams posted (I have a problem with registration codes and have asked for assstance thru the 'help desk').
I have beated the first waves and exited the room to the west, come around via the other rooms and blown the bombs via the little room in the bottom right corner. From there I have worked my way back again to finish of the seeps, only to find the room has been restored; all the roach queens are alive again.
What am I missing?

Yes, that's correct. You have to kill all the monsters in one trip through the room. If you miss one, the whole room will indeed be restored.

When you do the bombs part, it is possible to light the fuse too early.

But even in the south eastern corner with the fuse inside I can't beat it because at the end one seep stays alive in a wall on the opposite of the room, making it impossible to reach.

I tried to burn the fuse some ticks later so the brain brings the seep to me but then the bombs can't kill all the roaches spawned by the queen next to the brain.

What is going on there?!

Thanks for help.

Er... sorry for that. I had forgotten that monsters who can't reach me ( in this case the roaches) aren't influenced by the brain so it's easy to let them stay at "their" bombs...

What's the deal with the challenge in this room?

"Don't cross the west-facing arrow"

Strictly speaking, I do that when I bomb the room.

Does it means go from the south entrance to the west exit without stepping on a force arrow? Or do I have to actually clear the room without using the bombs or crossing that arrow?

Edit: For reference, the answer is, the challenge in unambiguous language should read "Open and pass the western door without stepping on the west-facing force arrow."

For a hint:
