I still have the demo handy (just sent it to someone else a week ago or so) so if you want it, PM or e-mail your e-mail address to me.

Game on,

What bothers me the most is that this is the third time this room is used in DROD.

IMO, it wasn't worth it the first time, why force it upon us two more times?

If people haven't figured it out by now, I'm stuck here due to inefficency. I used to enjoy tar in DROD, but then I found this room...

Let me be another person to request the demo for this room.
After a full month of attempts, I'm still 14 moves short.

I did try privately emailing the request to a few people
two weeks ago, but no replies.

Please mail the demo to ed@mathpuzzle.com

Ed, I answered your PM asking for your e-mail address. You never answered, but since you have now supplied it here, I will e-mail it to you now.

Why on earth do I keep getting the message that I have'nt
explored the room yet, when I have even done it and gone on?

If this is a malfunction then how does one fix it?

It's because you apparently have never uploaded your scores to the forum. You need to fill in the CaravelNet information in the Settings screen, and then upload your scores. Check the following post for more information:

Is that demo still available? I'm still banging my head against a brick wall. The closest I have got is about 3 moves too short.

email demo to peter.king@imperial.ac.uk.

Thanks!!!

I DO NOT SUCCEED in no way to resolve this room!
I have read your councils, but I do not understand well what I must make.
You help me?
This is the LAST room that I must make.

Help! I've died dozens of times in here, and got blocked many more times. I'm obviously being very inefficient and losing valuable moves somewhere, but I can't see where to gain space to manoeuvre. I've attached a demo, and would be very grateful if someone could point out where I am going wrong.

Thanks.

And of course, having posted this, I had another look at the room, found a different way to do it, and solved it easily. Is there a scientific explanation for this phenomenon?

I don't know what it is, but I'm sure it's flawlessly consistant.

I already sent it along via e-mail (he PM'ed me). Kafka, it's up to you whether you want to keep your demo up for everyone else or if you want to remove it so people aren't tempted to spoil themselves too early.

OK, I've removed it. Your demo was probably better than mine, anyway.

I'd be on level 23 if it weren't my personal goal to finish JtRH without having to go back and find secrets.

You're so mean; I need that demo, and now I have to bother persons and clutter the forum asking for it.
So, anyone want to help an inefficient person whose been stuck for months & whose CaravelNet isn't working 100%?

I'm not quite at the stage of asking for a demo for this infernal room. Before I do that, could some kind soul check if I'm hitting the doors in the best order:

If that is the optimum sequence then I need to work on my tar removal efficiency. So far I'm way behind schedule. TIA for any advice.

That's the order which worked for me.

Move counts for each tap in my demo, if you want (these aren't hard targets, but if you miss one by too much you know where to optimise):

The good news is that I'm reaching or even slightly improving on Tuttle's door hitting schedule.

The bad news is that I'm still about 30 (yes 30) moves too slow with the tar mother killing. Here's what I'm doing, is it silly?

I knew I downloaded a demo for this room at some point from Chris, but couldn't find it again so I figured it had been removed... I guess that is not the case! :)

It's taken awhile, but I did finally conquer the tar: Halph's smug remarks did annoy me (per design for the older DROD fan, I feel).

Pearls YouTube Lets Play for this room isn't so much a solution as an inspiration that it's just possible without too much sweat: it's the first two minutes of this vid.

Let's Play DROD: Journey To Rooted Hold [Part 76]

I know, Mike, you're probably going to wait till I actually master Rooted Hold before you release TSS, sorry for the holdup.
