There's a common, unrequired, trick in many holds where people can solve the room (which drops the green doors), then cut tar, mud or gel to spawn a baby, which causes the room to become unconquered but the green doors to remain open. This lets players leave the room, then come back to an unconquered room, from unusual entrances.
This room can be solved from the northwest entrance without coming into it from the northeast entrance (which, as you noted, is only possible if you solved the room already anyway). So, don't worry about the northeast entrance, just solve the room the way it appears to be.
