I don't see how to do that. You have to go in with the mimic on your left or you can't use the tunnel. Then you have a forced sequence of sword moves or you die.

Yes, what you said happens on the left, but I still can't move right. And I don't see how to get it to happen on the right without getting killed first. Even with the useful blockage on the left, how do I go right along the bottom after going through the tunnel?

Help - I need help for another room on level 12 of JtRH, and I can't say so. If I click on Help for a specific room and pick JtRH, it only lets me choose level 1. And it won't let me post a new topic, like with JtRH and the room in the title...

Anyway, JtRH level 12 1W:

It seems like you have to do the reds before the blacks or the roach queen gets away. And you can't do the western set of reds without ending up at the bottom, so you have to call Halph into the bomb chamber to get you out. And you have to trigger the bomb to get the NW bunch of roaches, so you blow up Halph. What's wrong here? Is there any way to get into the bomb chamber to hit the breakable wall, or is that a red herring?

I tried clearing the blacks first near spawning time, hoping to trap the queen in her offspring, but she moves before the spawns, so that didn't work.

In order to see the rooms to pick, you have to be logged in to CaravelNet. I don't think you have to upload your scores though. In any case, we do this in order to keep levels/rooms you haven't seen yet hidden, to prevent spoiling the rest of the game for yourself. If you aren't sure what to do, you might want to check the Help documentation for JtRH. Basically you just need a CaravelNet key sent to the e-mail address you have assigned to yourself on this forum, and paste it into the Settings menu within DROD. At that point more of the forum functionality will be available to you, as well as some nifty stuff in-game (like being able to see the top 8 demos for rooms you've completed).

I am obviously missing something simple in 2N1E. The mimic has to be on your left. Thus, you can only move forward, backwards, and to the right. With the mimic on your left you can not use the tunnel on the left.

So, what is the obvious thing I am missing?

And how in the world does one get a tar baby in the arrow?

Oh, shoot :( I think I know how to move now. swords NW and move on the diagonal (I think). Now just have to figure out how to no get the mimic stuck on a arrow.

Your problem seems to be that the mimic gets stuck because you have to go twice to the right (or diagonally to the right) after you get through the tunnel. You already know what can stop him from going there!

I'm sorry, I know I'm being really dense here but I still don't get it.
Yes it would be really helpful if a tar baby were in that force arrow, but he's in the left one and there is no way (that I can see) to have one in the right hand one also.
I think I need a more obvious clue.

OK...I feel like the village idiot here, but I've gone over the hints for this room and they don't even seem to address my questions!
1. How is it possible to get rid of all the tar to make the black gate open? There are always circles left that can't be removed.
2. I am mystified about how to use the mimic in this room. I see no good place to put him really.
What am I missing here?

I am also stuck in the room N2E1
I've got how to use mimic and tar baby to block arrows.
But when pass the last tar pool with the mimic and then move to the tunnel and splash the last tar pool myself - mimic kills the tar baby on the arrow and steps on it (as he copies my actions).
And then I can't reach the orb as it is behind the arrows.

So, I can't get how to lead the mimic to the orb without getting stuck on lower arrow?

it does not help. Because when I get to the last passage towards the tar pool, I can move only right or left (as I am in the passage). I destroy the tar pool and all babes, and the mimic at the same time kills the babe on arrow and steps on it.
Again, I can't reach the orb.

Guna, the point you may be missing is that the mimic won't just choose to go north or south if east is blocked...you have to be telling the mimic to move NE or SE.

This is a matter of vertical preference -- if there is an obstacle to the NE of a mimic and you move Beethro NE, the mimic will end up going north. Generally, given an impossible diagonal move, the mimic will always choose to move vertically (assuming that's possible). But it's like vector arithmetic -- it won't move in a direction that is not a component of Beethro's move.
