Hi! I've tried to come back to drod after a few years, but BOTH GatEB and TSS on Steam refuse to work for me. It prompts me to enter a new profile name then asks me which keyboard configuration I would prefer. No matter what I choose, the game stops and I see a generic "drod.exe has stopped working" message. There are no error logs that I could find.

So far I've tried:
- verifying game files thru Steam
- reinstalling
- turning off steam cloud sync
- renaming/deleting the data folder in Documents/Caravel
- downloading demo versions of both games from Caravelgames website - surprisingly, these seem to work just fine

I'm trying to run them on Windows 7 x64. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: After countless hours of reading forums I found a solution that worked for me: add a text file called "datapath.txt" to the game folder and fill it with ".\Data;.\Data;"

Hopefully it can help someone else.

I really appreciate you looking further into this and reporting back with what worked for you.

Would like to provide a fix so this isn't an issue for other players going forward.

Would you be interested in helping me test out a development build to verify a candidate fix?

Not sure how soon I can post an updated build, but when I do, I'll post here, and I'll need you to confirm that it works without the presence of the manually added DataPath.txt file.

This may be fixed by the player data dir fixes.

I can't reproduce the issue, so we'll have to see on release.
