Ok, got a fairly easy to replicate strategy.

×Kill 2 guards.

×Attract the guards away, then go to the NNE corner of the central area, and face NW

×Attract the guards to the E side of the NW clone. You want to time the next step when they are in the same column and have their swords the same way. Sending them between NW and NE should let you do this.

×Send them towards the NE clone. They should be side by side in the same column with their sword facing E. (maybe after a couple of steps)

×When they are in the right position, switch to the SE clone. They'll turn SE then move diagonally. You want them to walk past original Beethro.

×Switch to NE clone, and step one to make them face east and release the roaches.

×Back to original Beethro - the guards'll try to turn towards each other and you can qw the roaches at your leisure.
