Dang. Firstly, I'm kinda stuck here.

Secondly: Since this area appears to be optional, is there a legitimate way to actually *walk* back here once you've reached the point at which you decide how many other things to do and areas to visit before ending the game, or do you have to restore?

You can return to the Arcane Laboratory later if you want to do everything in one save file.
