I have killed all guards in this room except for the last one! He does not come out unless I'm on the final tile to exit and at that point I can't kill him because I have no where to go!! Please help!!!

You don't have to exit through the green door. So long as you have killed all the monsters, you can leave the room at the south edge and they won't respawn when you come back.
