Greetings chat!

I've been making a few advanced notices in the CaravelNet chat that I'm planning on doing a DROD stream today, but I realized I didn't actually make a forum post about it.

I will most likely be going for about two hours, so that I can end my stream at about the same time ThemsAllTook's Final Fantasy stream starts. Today's hold that I'll start with will be Purgatory, in Architecture by mauvebutterfly. We'll see from there.

I'm tempted to go into a longer spiel about DROD streaming and my channel philosphy but I'm cutting myself off here so I can actually get this posted.

Resurrecting this thread to actually properly announce a stream a couple days in advance, like some sort of... advance notice.

I'm doing another Architecture review stream this Sunday at Local Time:08-07-2020 at 06:00 PM. This time I'll be reviewing azb's hold in Architecture The Forgotten Civilization, probably for two to three hours.

EDIT: Cancelled due to technical difficulties and performance problems, sorry! Still need to do more troubleshooting with encoder settings, apparently - thought they were fine with tests before the stream, and the final pre-stream test instead said they were not.

Let's dig this old dusty thread out of the closet and re-use it for its intended purpose. I'll be doing a DROD stream this Sunday in preparation for the 17th Annual People's Choice Awards, at the following time:

Glad you liked my entry. One thing you missed was that if you go the (clearly) wrong way at the beginning of the level, you can see the blue door, which indicates (though doesn't prove) that you would want to clear all the rooms.

(As it is often a good idea to peek into any rooms possible. I thought about having a required room with stairs back to the entrance, but the penalty for missing it would have been too big.)

Thanks for the stream. It was fun watching someone actually figure their way through my entry, even if you got lost at the 'ritual' part. Now I see that I probably should've said something about . I definitely took the contest prompt as an inspiration for the idea of making a puzzle that only works by retrieving information from "the future" and then restoring to "the past" to use it. The entry also consists of increasingly complex "layers" that sometimes recontextualize an old room into a new puzzle, although I did my very best to not make the player play any one puzzle room the same way twice.

Thanks for the follow-up comments, I appreciate them!

Unfortunately I'm pretty busy tonight, and while I was considering doing a livestream on Friday night, it looks like the poll deadline is Friday 8:00 PM EST (in my timezone) which would only give me roughly two hours, maybe a little less, to do the stream before I'd have to go vote anyway. So I don't think I'd have time to do video commentary, let alone a stream, to both finish the hold and vote on time.

Probably what I'll do is briefly take a peek at some of the other holds for some of the other categories I'm unsure of and then get the vote in, and maybe I'll do a livestream at some other point when time better permits.

I'm still interested in doing other DROD livestreams and recordings, of course, but it's all a matter of scheduling + timing + all the other real-life incidental stuff.
