The command would activate the same interface as when you step on a double potion. So basically the player either clicks a square or selects via movement. The script can then do something with it.

It would need a bunch of options to determine valid squares, eg standard potions are no trapdoors, no yellow doors, open floor ok, not on monster etc.

Uses:

Custom potions: place a stalwart or a brain or a wall or a lemming or a fegundo etc etc

Portable orb: hit command key, select any orb to activate it

Teleport potion: just like a clone only the original conveniently vanishes.

Finger of death: hit command key, click random monster to kill it.

Good call. I can't recall the number of times that I came up with a nice custom idea, just to realize it would need 'select a square' functionality. I have actually thought of building this function myself. But that's just ridiculously complicated.

You could just use scripting to decide if the square is valid after selection, and have it go right back into the select command if not.
