For once, I would like to try and not lose my drod progress, and in particular save all the holds I have downloaded on an usb key so that I might reinstall drod in the future.

Also, it's more ecological to not make the internet turbines turbinate for no good reason.

I looked in the drod install folder, in C:/programdata, in My Documents, no luck.

The drod_version.dat file is suspisciously heavy... but does not grow heavier when I download another hold.

Can someone enlighten me, with my sincere thanks? :)

Suggest checking under your Users folder, and do a search for "DROD" or "Caravel"

Ok, for my installation of GatEB, the holds are in

C:\ProgramData\Caravel\drod-4_0\data.dat

Next question : if I save this file somewhere, will I be able to "install" every hold I already downloaded in a future installation of the game, by just copying it in my drod-4_0 folder?

Is it just a convenience, do even non-caravel members have access to http://forum.caravelgames.com/holds.php ?

All the best!

You would have to copy all of the .dat files, not just data.dat. The files all reference each other, copying just some of the files will probably have some bad consequences.

But yes, if you copy all of the .dat files to another installation, it should work fine.

Yes, this page is open to the public just like the forum itself and the Holds board here is. It's just an alternate way of viewing the published holds and downloading them.

That particular one is convenient for sorting the holds by alternate means (alphabetical, difficulty, etc.) :)
