4 of the first 6 golems need to go into creating a wall, so you block the only path the Stalwarts have to the golems.
×If you face East or South, you can frequently move far enough to attract a golem without letting the Stalwarts move. It's definitely possible to kill all but 5 golems without letting the Stalwarts move more than once after the first set of golems are killed, but there's a bunch of flexibility there.
