I had an idea today (not an original one I admit), and wanted to see whether there might be any interest in it.
Fairly soon (I mean a few months from now) it'll be summer in the northern hemisphere, and as a result steam (along with various other online game shops) will probably have some manner of sale. I thought it might be cool to do a secret santa thing during said sale?
In theory, the rules would go something like this:

×-In order to participate, you must have at least n posts and m rank points. This is to discourage people from joining the forum just to get a free game and then failing to give anything to anyone else. I'm thinking n = 10, m = 20, but I'm open to suggestions as to what numbers would be best. Ideally the real requirement is that someone is a participating-ish member of this forum who can be trusted to give as well as receive a gift, if only (in the most pessimistic estimation) to not suffer the scorn of fellow members for cheating the system.
-Make sure the top ten items on your steam wishlist includes at least one (preferably more so it's a surprise!) that costs $20 or less (or your country's rough equivalent thereof). Someone can choose to give a more expensive gift than that if they want, but this way we can all expect to not have to pay more than that.
-Post in the thread to sign up with a link to your steam profile, which should be set to public so that others can see your wishlist.
-About the time that the sale starts, I'll shuffle everyone's names to assign each person a secret santa, and PM who your recipient is. Then you go to their wishlist and buy something from it for them as a gift!
So, is anyone interested? Also, we could of course expand this to other storefronts like gog or humble as long as it has a wishlist feature and a way to send other people gift games for it. I'm open to suggestions on how to improve the idea if anyone is interested. Of course, if nobody wants to do it that's fine as well, I just thought it might be a cool thing to do.
