My assumptions about this room:
I have to hit the western orb first
The mimic cannot step off the force arrows without pointing his sword south.
I cannot be in the alcove with the western orb when the mimic steps off the force arrows.

That's what I've figured out about this room so far (besides the obvious hit-the-orb puzzle), and yet I can't even break the middle cracked wall!

The bottom of the mimic's chamber is a 2x2 square; it's a very handy place to be if you can keep your sword orthogonal.

For the middle cracked wall, however, it's pretty clear you have to be able to make a southward move and then be able to face southwest - there's two different places in the mimic's chamber you can do that (either in the middle or on the upper part). Either will work.

The rest is just being very careful about your mimic's displacement so that it's in just the right place when you arrive at your actual destination.
