but the execution is a pain, and the bug where the gentryii sometimes can't tell a diagonal chain is an obstacle doesn't help.

Can I get any advice, or if that's hard to manage, a demo?

Unfortunately, except for the last hint, that's pretty much all stuff I'd figured out. And the last hint isn't helping me much.
