The way I see it, I have two reasonable options here. Run around until I somehow win, or get a demo from someone.

I've tried going for the tar, and that's just a long path with a high likelihood of either getting trapped or dropping the fegundo. But going for the close orb would require me to survive five turns with fewer places for me to stand and more places for the seep, which doesn't seem especially likely.

If there's some way I can actually apply some kind of strategy, I'd appreciate hearing what it is. Otherwise, I'll just take a demo.

The strategy here is just learning to survive walking around with the seep on all sides. It's not as hard as it first appears, it just takes practice to get good at it.

You'll want to put the fegundo in the obvious spot (the glowing square next to the bomb). I'm not sure what you're talking about with respect to the "near orb".

With all due respect, I disagree. There is nothing to "learn" here. The seep will move in erratic ways and sooner or later you get trapped. I've survived for quite a while, and even gotten within a few squares of the gel, but I couldn't pull it off without the fegundo falling down a pit while I was trying to survive.

All I've managed to do is follow vague patterns that sometimes let me survive, in a process that is extremely trial-and-error. I'm not planning at all, I'm just hoping that the seep I'm walking away from try to move away from me rather than staying in place so I can step back near that wall later.

The "near orb" is an orb near the fegundo that toggles the yellow doors. In theory, if I could hit it and survive five turns, I could hit it again when the fegundo revives, killing a bunch of seep. However, surviving five turns with extra doors in place is extremely unlikely - it's just something I've looked at out of desperation.

The near orb shouldn't really be tied to anything—that was a mistake left in place from a previous version of the room, I think. So no, it isn't an intended solution.

We'll have to agree to disagree about whether or not strategy can be learned. Upon retrying the room after several years, it didn't take me too long to figure out how to get the fegundo up there, and successive attempts always got me closer until I hit it. I agree it's too much trial and error, though, which is why it's in postmastery rather than a secret in the main hold.

There's definitely some tactics involved in this room if one looks beyond first impression of "a bunch of brained seep rush at me and there's no magic spot to hide, so this is completely trial-and-error". That was my first impression of required version (28A; fegundo was further from the gel/bomb spot in earlier version btw), then I've actually started to like the room, and this one as well.

There is *some* trial and error involved for sure but it's not guess-a-random-movement-pattern-that-will-work sort of room.

(also, I have tried to use the "mistake" toggle orb and can confirm it doesn't seem to work)

EDIT: sorry, didn't realise you haven't solved the room when I posted this. Thought last 2 posts were just post-solve discussion about how trial-and-error heavy this room is

Please put actual advice in your posts instead of just disagreeing with my assessment of the room. It might actually change my opinion.

I apologize if I'm coming off as rude, but the lack of advice and my distaste for the room itself are combining to make me really upset here. This is the best I could manage after several attempts.
