alright I'm stuck at the checkpoint trying to bring the mirror with me, is this the proper solution to use both mirrors to get past the briar or will one do? thanks for any suggestions

I don't quite understand what you mean. Are you talking about the room with the evil eye? You only need one mirror to solve that part.
