Has anyone had a chance to play Into the Breach? (GOG link https://www.gog.com/game/into_the_breach)

It just released and some of the reviews call it a chess-like puzzle that may appeal to the DROD crowd.

It is by the same folks that made FTL, so that gives it some cred in my book.

Thoughts?

It's very good! Just be aware that some people have exaggerated its pure-logic-puzzle/perfect-information aspects. While it's true that you can predict monsters' next-move behavior (and treat the current move as a puzzle), subsequent turns are not so clear and you'll need to manage risk and resources cannily as in other squad-tactics games.

I think if you like one or more of: XCOM games, Desktop Dungeons, DROG RPG, you will very likely enjoy this.
