Jon has been making and performing music since at least the 90s with some different bands of his. I first heard a song called Autonomy from his earlier band, Pivot Clowj. It was on a compilation CD with other synthpop artists like Information Society. I thought, "
well, this is a long shot, but I'll try asking this guy about putting his music in DROD."
And it worked out, which made me really happy.
It also helped form my advocacy for reaching out to creative people and talking to them directly to get permission or pay them to use their work. So many great things have happened to me by doing this. We should be thinking of the world as a collection of people we can team up with--not just inert media to download and mash together.
Note that many of Jon's songs were on his albums before they became DROD songs, and they often have lyrics. The Autonomy song is also the title music to TSS. The original song has Jon's vocals--very beautiful if you can find it!
I feel lucky and honored to have collaborated with this prolific Man of Music over the years.
