So, I was
reading Hacker News just a few minutes ago and found somebody posted a link to a basic income experiment:
https://www.swiftdemand.com/users/sign_up?referred_by_name=gwanfried
The basic idea is that everybody gets 100 coins per day (as long as the user actively claims it), and then people all around the Internet bootstrap actual value to these coins by selling goods and services in exchange for receiving some of these coins. I've been trying to find a list of services people have started quoting values for, but right now all I've found is
this guy writing one haiku for 100 coins (so, a day's income).
You also get extra coins for referring people in the early days o the experiment, so strictly speaking it's best to sign up through a referral link since it generates more money for the economy.
I'll be paying attention to this over the next couple of months; it should be interesting to see if anybody starts trying to sell local food delivery with this currency.
