The scroll says:
Don't turn your sword

The achievement text says:
Tar Toccata
(JtRH) L10:2E - Clear the room without turning your sword

Both of these are misleading, because the challenge is actually to drop the black gate without turning your sword, not clearing the room. Note that you can clear the room by killing all monsters and leaving back the way you came, and this will of course not award you the challenge.

So the wording should be changed to something like:
Don't turn your sword and clear the room of tar
Tar Toccata
(JtRH) L10:2E - Clear the room of tar without turning your sword
Or maybe:
Don't turn your sword and drop the black gate
Tar Toccata
(JtRH) L10:2E - Drop the black gate without turning your sword

Also, The Red Snake of Courage achievement says:
(JtRH) L16:1N2E - Kill the serpent before killing any golems and clearing the room
But is actually awarded for:
(JtRH) L16:1N2E - Kill all four snakes before killing any golems and clearing the room.
Just like the scroll says.

Thanks for reporting these.

I've fixed the wording of the Steam achievements. I've made a note to correct the scroll description for Tar Toccata.

(Nuntar, if you are planning any JtRH fixes on your end, can you include this one at the same time?)

The JtRH 22:2N2W challenge scroll says
"Don't strike the southeast orb"
but the Steam achievement says
Only Passin' Through
"(JtRH) L22:2N2W - Clear the room without striking the southeast orb"
The JtRH 22:1N1W challenge scroll says
"Don't cross the west-facing force arrow"
but the Steam achievement says
Beethro Has a Brain Too
"(JtRH) L22:1N1W - Clear the room without crossing the west-facing force arrow"
Except in both these cases you're not clearing the room. In both of them, you're passing through the room to clear it with bombs later. The scrolls have a better wording.
