I don't know if any of you remember incnone, the guy that made the highly rated Koenigsburg Swamps and then disappeared from the community, but he is making a puzzle game: Bean and Nothingness. (his twitter)

It looks like something DROD people should keep an eye on.

Edit: yeah watch the trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FYpAUft0ns

I highly recommend watching the gameplay trailer on this page - it shows off a lot of neat-looking puzzle mechanics, all of which are interacting with one another in pretty neat depth.

It also looks like the gameplay is slow enough that it's not too hard to time things to take place at specific locations (e.g. the drag speed of the green vine monsters looks slow enough that you can do things at certain squares, but fast enough that you won't be waiting a million years to go over long distances).

Like, I wish DROD had a trailer like this trailer, it's that good.

This game had gone quiet for several years, and I worried it might have been abandoned, but it looks like the website has recently been updated with a new trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ7PRBcBfE0

In another puzzle community, I spotted a link to a post where they're looking for playtesters: https://www.reddit.com/r/puzzlevideogames/comments/n2k05v/looking_for_playtesters_for_bean_and_nothingness/

Sounds like this might be getting close to finished!

Due to my unique way of playing games, I wasn't able to find a spot for this one until recently. Now that I've had the chance to try it out, I'm pretty impressed! It reminds me of larrymurk's Sokoban: Bunny Tales, in the same way of looking colorful and unassuming at a glance, but underneath the surface there's a masterwork of level design full of interesting realizations and the occasional major stumper.

This one keeps on occupying a little corner of my mind even when I'm not playing it. It's apparently pretty large - I've done maybe 30 or 40 puzzles so far, and from what I understand, I've only just scratched the surface. Definitely a hidden gem.

+1 for this game: it just smells of mathematicians.

I'm not far in, but am already amazed at the satisfying complexity in tiny puzzle spaces.

Not much fat. And 5 bean puzzles are really tough.

Alex Diener and Joseph Mansfield are both doing youtube playthroughs.

1) This game smells like mathematicians
2) This game smells good
3) Most mathematicians do not smell good*
4) Contradiction

*anecdotal evidence

The mathematician's smell .....

The tall green urn behind the text is a klein bottle.

(not a spoiler, just views from the overworld)

Speaking of Klein Bottles, here is a great short video about them by a guy who's more enthusiastic about them than I am by my favorite things (secreted because it's embedded YT vids):

And my personal favorite of his:

I swear I could listen to this guy be excited about topology all day.
