Whwre's the optimal place to put the mimmic?

×Take a look at the roach in the little chamber at (19/1). You have to kill that roach somehow, and that involves either luring the roach out of the chamber or getting something to kill it inside the chamber or luring it next to the diagonal force arrow and killing it from there.

×Beethro is stuck on the east side of the room which means the roach cannot be lured away from the eastern side of its chamber at all. It's also impossible for the mimic to enter the chamber after you've placed it because of the force arrow.

×So you really have no choice besides putting the mimic right next to the roach at (19/1).
And what is a seeding beacon?
The seeding beacon is one of the new elements in DROD: The Second Sky. Seeding beacons have two states, they are either turned on or off. Activated seeding beacons glow red, whereas inactive ones are just grey-ish, like the one in this room starts out as. Striking them with a weapon, exploding them and similar things will toggle them from one state to the other.
Basically, seeding beacons un-clear a room when you leave it with a beacon turned on (red).
So for a room to be cleared ALL beacons must be turned off or destroyed (through briar or falling bridges, for example) in the same turn you leave the room.
This also means that they can revert cleared rooms to being uncleared again, even if it was already cleared when you entered it and then turn on a beacon and leave. That's why there is a beacon in this particular room: In this case it's not intended to be a part of the puzzle but rather a more convenient way to attempt the challenge written on the scroll on the green gate without having to use the restore function. So you really don't have to worry about it while you're solving this room.
Some other important seeding beacon behaviour that might not be apparent:
-Green gates will drop when you kill all the monsters and/or step on a conquer token, regardless of whether there are active seeding beacons in the room or not.
-Seeding beacons can start out either on or off in a room you haven't conquered, but they will always be initially turned off if you re-enter a room after clearing it.
If you're interested in playing a hold that introduces seeding beacons (and the other new elements) I'd recommend the official The Second Sky hold (which is really good in general, too).
You could also check out Do It Again by jokokoe because it features seeding beacons heavily while not being too difficult.
