Okay, I'm obviously missing something here. My reasoning:

×1. There's not much to do for me for the first 30 turns. After that, there's not much else to do but to drink the clone potion.
2. If I ever want to get past the guard, I have to place my clone right of it.
3. The only places to do so are(13,16), (30,16) and (35, 16)
4. Placing my clone at (13,16) will kill it as soon as I blow up the bomb, so I can rule that out. (30,16) and (35,16) are both viable choices, but neither of them seem to help me with my problem.
5. I will have to blow up the bomb at (19,16) eventually.
6. There's no way my clone could reach (18,16) to leave a caber there.
7. This means there needs to be a patch of ice at (17,16) before I step on (18,16), or I will be killed.
8. If I want to kill the guard, I can't keep the bomb at (14,16) from blowing up, and I can't reduce its explosion range. The initial ice at (17,16) will melt.
9. The only other possibility would be to create a new patch of ice with a puff cloud. This seems impossible, however, especially as there's no way I can get one of them east of me.
Finding the flaw in my logic is very much appreciated
