Actually, if you want to be technical (and I'm guessing you don't), neither of you made post #40000. Sebhaque's post is #41222 and Nillo's post is #41223. The real post #40000 can be found here:

The way I see it there are two (three) alternatives:

1. There are boards hidden from normal users that use the same post numbering system.

2. The messageID of a deleted post remains unused.

(3. Both)

I'm not entirely sure which one applies, but I would guess it's the first one (or the third).

Actually, they are from deleted posts. Administrator board posts count in the post count. That's why the number mysteriously gets higher sometimes.
