So, My game just crashed and all my data is gone. There seems to be no record of any of the levels that I have done. I cannot click on the continue game option as it is not available. I cannot restore, and I have no option but to restart the game.

Well, it turns out I have a save that was fairly recent. I only need to do a few rooms. Turns out that DROD will not let me import it. It goes through the process of finding out how much space is needed then quit.

I'm running Linux if that helps.

Even re-installing the game fails to let me import my save.

Have you tried moving/deleting the data files before reinstalling and attempting the import? If your current files are corrupt, they may be causing a crash during import as well.

I don't have the exact path handy, but it should be somewhere obvious under ~/.caravel/ or similar. Those files are the ones which get updated during play; there's also a drod-5_0.dat file somewhere else but that only holds the official hold and the base game assets and doesn't change.
