The editor will not let you place a scroll on top of a platform, however there is no gameplay reason as far as I can see as to why it shouldn't.

It will however let you place a scroll on ground, and then place the platform on top of the existing scroll. Now the scroll is on the platform, and works just fine, except the editor shows it up as an error.

I can confirm that in build 1.2.3.133 scrolls can be placed directly onto platform over pit and platform over water, and does not show up as an error in the editor
