You can view the stats of a monster by either pressing + on the numpad (to view all of them in the room), or by right-clicking on the monster or engaging in a fight with it, in which case its stats appear in the side-bar.

If there is a brain in the room, then the attack value of monsters in the side-bar is doubled, while on the + screen it is not. The two screens are inconsistent in their display of the monster's attack. The expected damage on the + screen is correct though.

Using version 1.2.3.116, bu this has probably been around forever.

I can confirm that in 1.2.3.133 the + menu is showing the correct brain-boosted attack value, and is consistent with the side-bar display
