Way Forward : Secrets Below : 1 North, 2 East (0)

I've got no idea how to catch up to the queen. I'm sure spawning is part of the solution, but I can't see how I'm supposed to make it work.

Any advice?

I'm trying it, but I'm not really seeing how I can gain ground when I keep losing turns to kill the spawned roaches. I think I'm missing something here.
